Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
- Provides certain protections and requirements related to qualified employees for time off for the birth of a child, placement of a child (adoption or foster care) to care for them, caring for an employee’s spouse, child, or parent’s serious health condition, a serious health condition rendering the employee unable to perform the essential functions of their job, qualifying exigency arising out of the employee’s spouse, so, daughter, or parent who is a covered military member on covered active duty, or caring for a covered service member with a serious injury or illness.

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
