What should you do if you are injured on the job?

Your health and safety are very important to the company. In the event you become injured or ill while working, it is important that you contact your manager, other member of management, or human resources immediately.

Once you notify your manager (or other member), they will assess your situation and determine if the injury or illness is a first aid matter or if you need to be sent to the company's designated clinic to be evaluated by a medical professional.

It is important to follow all of the steps that are provided to you from your manager, HR, medical professionals, and if a claim is opened for you, the workers' compensation carrier. Doing this decreases the chances of further or serious injury or illness as well as increases the chances of a speedy and great recovery.

What should you do if you are interested in growing or entering management at the company?

Everyone is motivated by different things in the workplace. Some are motivated by being around their colleagues, others by being assigned to big projects, some by money, others by growth opportunities, and countless other reasons.

The company recognizes that there are employees who wish to advance their careers by such means as training, money, titles, and management. Interestingly, all four of these areas are very much related to the other. For instance, with training there is more opportunity for advancement into new positions, which may mean a new title, management, and/or compensation.

If you are interested in growth opportunities, especially those in management, it is important to understand the common elements and requirements associated with growing into these positions:
  1. Education and training
  2. Experience
  3. Management skills
  4. People skills
  5. Availability of positions

Over the next few months, human resources will be working closely with the company's senior management to develop career paths. Career paths are essentially guides to potential opportunities, what is required in the role, and what is required to be considered for those roles.

As we develop this program, we will be sure to include it in your Employee Portal. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact a member of HR.

What should you do if you feel you have been subjected to sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation or abusive conduct?

The company takes all forms of harassment, discrimination, retaliation and abusive conduct seriously. Whether by or against an employee of the company, the company's position is that it has a "zero tolerance" policy.

If you feel that you have been exposed or subjected to harassment, discrimination, retaliation or abusive conduct in the workplace, it is important that you contact your manager, another member of management, or human resources as soon as possible. You can also click here to submit your complaint online and a member of your HR Services Team will contact you quickly to discuss.
